At least once annually, GFB sponsors a ministry trip to the region where we are working. These trips are open to anyone, though there is trip preparation the individual is expected to make prior to going.
Today, a wide gap exists between theology (what we read in the Bible) and what so many believers actually experience. Many believers are trapped in a “vicious downward spiral.” Every time expectation based on theology is not met, disappointment sets in, and the level of expectation for the “unseen” dissipates slowly and imperceptibly until it reaches a point where most of the real expectation for the supernatural is lost. As a result, it causes a believer to lose faith and live far below the authority and power that God has promised.
Our power evangelism journeys have proven to be one of the most powerful and effective ways of reversing the downward spiral!
In the past several years, scores of “lil’ ole me’s” from different backgrounds, occupations, and denominations have stepped into the supernatural dimensions of healing, deliverance, and Holy Spirit empowered evangelism. The results have been phenomenal! God has given us favor in Brazil where the supernatural river of God is being released today. You need to experience this river firsthand; those who immerse themselves in it find themselves transformed.
God did not simply save you so you could eventually go to heaven one day. He called you to destroy the works of our enemy… now!
TYPES OF TRIPS
GFB has two types of ministry trips: metropolitan area ministry and ministry in the interior of the state of Ceará.
Our ministry trips to the metropolis of Fortaleza with a metro population of 4.5 million people, are eye-opening, spiritually challenging, enlightening journeys into the spiritual realms while walking under and open heaven. You will be exposed to life as you read about in the book of Acts; you will be called on to “pray heaven down,” and it will truly happen; you will encounter darkness and expel it with powerful light.
In short, as our founder likes to say, it will “mess you up,” but in a marvelous way!
Our ministry trips to the interior, away from the metropolitan conveniences, are even more intense. Because of the rustic nature of these trips, it is not advised for someone with health issues to undertake them. Typically you will be sleeping in a hammock, a camping-type of environment, the climate is hot, and the days are long. Age is not an issue, your health and stamina are.
The activities on these trips include Vacation Bible School type of activities with hundreds of children daily, house to house visitation, activities with teenagers, physical projects (e.g., improving a street, laying sewer pipe, working on a church building, etc.) and nightly evangelistic services.
One of the primary activities in which you will be engaged is called “power evangelism.” Power evangelism is a form of evangelism which relies primarily on the supernatural power and gifts of the Holy Spirit for its effectiveness. Although most Christians would believe that a person is brought to faith primarily through the action of God in the person of the Holy Spirit, in this form of evangelism supernatural events such as healings, words of knowledge and speaking in tongues are a demonstration of the power, and therefore the reality, of God.
Power evangelism is a gospel presentation which is both rational and transcends the rational; it comes with the demonstration of the power of God, with signs and wonders and introduces the numinous of God. It is a life-changing activity!
While tightly packed with activities and physically tiring, these trips will give you some of the most intense periods of spiritual growth you can possibly imagine. To say they are rewarding is a dramatic understatement!
