Our Mission
Gospel for Brazil is devoted to making disciples of Jesus Christ in the state of Ceará, Brazil. Partnering with Brazilians, we provide logistical and financial assistance to win the lost, plant local churches, and bring families out of extreme poverty. We do this in three ways.
Native Missionaries
Gospel for Brazil trains and sends native missionaries because they know the language and culture. This removes social barriers and makes them extremely effective in communicating and reaching people.
GFB trains qualified and devoted Brazilian Christians to fulfill their role in the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20). The program utilizes both American and Brazilian teachers. The students receive instruction and intensive training in practical Christian theology combined with hands-on ministry experience. The end result is a local church body that duplicates and cultivates itself throughout the region.
Seed of Hope
The World Health Organization defines poverty as living on $2 per day, but the reality is that most families in the northeastern Brazil are forced to survive on less than $1 per day. On top of the extreme poverty there is a severe lack of natural resources, and the literacy rate is only 40%.
GFB is dedicated to seeing this problem eradicated. Through Seed of Hope we provide families with necessities that are often taken for granted here in the United States. Just $1 a day provides a child daily nutritious meals, school tuition and supplies, and medical and dental care.
100% of your sponsorship goes directly to Brazil! Nothing is taken out for administration or fundraising. Your child receives the full benefit of your generosity.
You can provide the entire year’s funds at once for $360, or $30 per month. We have partnered with PayPal to give you the option of automatic payment. To pay by check, send the payment directly to us, made out to “Gospel for Brazil” and write “Seed of Hope” on the memo line. You can also pay by money order.
Once you are registered with us, you will receive a photo of your child along with their name and date of birth. Once your child begins to receive your assistance, you will be able to communicate with them through letters, pictures, and even video.

Mission Trips
Gospel for Brazil sponsors mission trips each summer. These trips are open to anyone. However, due to the harsh climate and sometimes strenuous work it is recommended that individuals with health risks consult with their physician before going on a trip.
Activities differ slightly from year to year based on the needs of the people. In the recent past they have included:
Vacation Bible School with hundreds of children, house-to-house visitation, organizes sports with teenagers, humanitarian aid such as improving a street, laying sewer pipe, repairing church building, and nightly evangelistic services.
One of the primary activities in which you will be engaged is called “power evangelism.” This is a form of evangelism which relies primarily on the supernatural power and gifts of the Holy Spirit. Events such as healing, words of knowledge, and speaking in tongues are a demonstration of the power and reality of God and regularly occur.
